Flourish by helping others experience passionate purpose

Help 1 person experience passionate purpose during February! Why? Because experiencing passionate purpose helps someone flourish. Because helping them experience passionate purpose increases the likelihood they’ll find work engaging, meaningful, energizing. Because not helping someone experience passionate purpose increases the likelihood that they’ll find work disengaging, boring, draining. Not good.

So this month, how could you get started with helping 1 person experience passionate purpose? What comes to mind for us is starting with ourselves:

Next, we consider possible action steps, for example:

(1) Teachers, encourage a student to ask and discuss difficult faith-related questions, give a student the opportunity to use their learning to make an impact, or consistently model Christ-centered passionate purpose.

(2) Teaching staff and support staff, talk with a colleague (including a leader) about your school’s Christ-centered purpose statements, help someone understand how they contribute to mission achievement, or work with someone to develop action steps that will help students flourish.

(3) Leaders, ignite 1 person’s commitment by using “employaty,” cultivate contagious shared ownership of the mission by talking with someone about the mission, or get someone actively using your school’s purpose statements when making decisions.

Finally, we take an action step to help someone!

Get flourishing!

P.S. Leaders, help others get flourishing before, during, and after your ACSI Inspire visit! You can do this by staying deeply focused on flourishing, by using meetings and schoolwide action plans to get others flourishing, and by implementing a separate action plan on getting flourishing.
